The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a public notice declaring former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, a wanted fugitive.
The official poster, bearing the OSP seal and the bold inscription “WANTED,” features an image of Ofori-Atta along with his full name, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta.
It also lists details such as his age, gender, eye color, hair color, complexion, and possible locations, including the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).
According to the notice, Ofori-Atta is wanted in connection with multiple cases, including the Strategic Mobilization-GRA Contract, the termination of the ECG-GXC contract, National Cathedral payments, the ambulance procurement contract, and tax refund account utilization.
The declaration follows a press conference by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng on February 12, 2025, where he officially announced Ofori-Atta as a fugitive from justice. Agyebeng urged the former minister to return to Ghana immediately to face questioning, warning that failure to comply would lead to enforced measures to ensure his return.
The Special Prosecutor also dismissed claims that Ofori-Atta had left the country for medical treatment, insisting that he must cooperate with the ongoing investigations.
Additionally, Agyebeng refuted reports alleging that OSP officials had raided Ofori-Atta’s residence on February 11, 2025, stating that the former minister had staged the incident to mislead the public and undermine the investigation.
Ken Ofori-Atta is among several former government appointees currently under investigation by the OSP.
