South Africa: bandits halt preaching and rob congregants

Over the weekend, armed robbers broke into a Johannesburg church and stole from the congregation at gunpoint.

According to reports, the armed men interrupted the sermon before collecting cash and valuables from people inside the Johannesburg Central SDA church.

The church’s live camera filmed the moment the attackers prevented the preaching.

The church officials later shared a post on Facebook offering their condolences to the members and inviting them to a counselling service on Sunday, the day after the incident.

“We are praying for the church to unite in times like these, supporting each other both moral and practical,” the church said in the post, which included the video when the robbery occurred.
