Ghanaian musician, Fameye, has joined the campaign against smoking, describing it as a bad habit that should not be encouraged.
In a post shared on social media, the award-winning artist stated simply: “Smoking is a bad habit.”
Fameye has, on several occasions in interviews, emphasized that he does not smoke, reinforcing his stance as a role model for the youth.
His comments come at a time when smoking among young people in Ghana is reportedly on the rise. Beyond tobacco, many youths are increasingly turning to shisha, cannabis, and other illicit substances.
Despite widespread awareness of the health risks associated with smoking, many continue to indulge in the practice, a situation health advocates say calls for urgent attention.
