Smallgod, also recognised in private life as Nana Kwame Appiasei, a popular music figure, has stated that he does not have to croon with his voice to be recognised as a musician.
“Where we’ve reached now in the music business, you don’t need to be used to singing per sey to be called a musician because there are so many aspects of music being created,” he said on the Kastle Entertainment Show.
Smallgod, who grew up in Ghana, London, and the Netherlands, observed that there are many people bringing artistic vibes together and don’t sing.
“There are writers, producers, executive producers and there are so many people that bring the whole thing together so if you understand that then you understand it’s okay,” he said on Kastle FM sighted by MyNewsGh.com
Smallgod used DJ Khaled as an illustration, saying that although he doesn’t sing with his voice, he is known as a musician and is presently doing that in the music scene.
“After all DJ Khaled doesn’t sing but he’s recognized as a musician so I’m like that and I will say that I’m the DJ Khaled of Africa not only Ghana,” he told Amansan Krakye in a one-on-one interview.
