Ghanaian musician Sista Afia’s born Francisca Gawugah (Duncan Williams) has shared lights on how she was flown to spend her childhood in the UK.
According to the musician, the main reason why she ended up in the United Kingdom was that she was stubborn and her parents felt they needed to do something about it.
Granting an interview on Hitz FM, Sista Afia denied claims that she came from a rich home and that she didn’t suffer whiles growing up.
The ‘Asouden’ hitmaker revealed that she suffered just like any Ghanaian child before she was flown out of the country.
She stated that she used to sell water and ‘bofrot’ before she got the chance to travel out of the country.
“I am not a spoiled child. I have always worked for myself. I sold ‘bofrot’ and water during childhood. I was stubborn so I was flown to the U.K.
I used to live in the ghetto. At age 8, I used to pluck mangoes from the tree in our house and sell them,” she said in the interview.
