Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has praised the UK police and local council for intervening in the disruption that occurred during the ShattaFest event in the United Kingdom, saying their actions helped avert a potentially dangerous situation.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session on August 2, 2026, the musician claimed he had anticipated problems with the event long before arriving at the venue because of what he described as poor planning by the organisers.

According to Shatta Wale, he had warned members of his team that the event’s arrangements could attract the attention of law enforcement authorities.

“I told my team, including my wives, that with the way the organisers had planned the event, police would come around. I hadn’t even seen the set-up, but I could already tell something was wrong. Greed will make you do something and later you’ll wonder why you did it,” he said.

The SM boss alleged that the organisers attempted to combine the annual Party in the Park event with his ShattaFest brand, claiming the decision was motivated by financial interests rather than proper planning.

He explained that the arrangement was for Party in the Park to be merged with ShattaFest this year, with plans for him to stage a standalone ShattaFest event in the UK the following year.

“They decided that because I was coming, they would merge Party in the Park with ShattaFest so I could organise my own event next year. People have complained about Party in the Park before, but I only wanted to help. We had an agreement, but I don’t want to reveal the details,” he stated.

Shatta Wale further accused the organisers of failing to fulfil parts of their agreement, alleging that although he covered the cost of travelling to the UK with his wife, they did not honour their commitment to transport his team.

“It was my responsibility to bring myself here, and I came with my wife. It was your responsibility to bring my team, but that didn’t happen,” he claimed.

The dancehall artiste said he was grateful to the UK police and the local council for stepping in before the event could continue under what he described as unsafe conditions.

He argued that no entertainment event should be organised in a manner that puts attendees at risk simply to maximise profit.

“You invited people to Party in the Park and then tried to use ShattaFest to cover it up. I thank the UK police, the council and everyone who stopped the show. We shouldn’t allow people to lose their lives because of someone’s desire to make money,” he said.

Shatta Wale also criticised aspects of the event’s organisation, insisting that his own concerts are held to higher standards and should not be associated with arrangements he considers substandard.

“I told my team and even my wives that the UK police would come around because of the way the organizers had planned the event. It was greed that made them merge Ghana Party in the Park with ShattaFest UK, and that is what resulted in the chaos.”
