Shatta Wale reveals how he met his second wife Christy at Legon
Ghanaian dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has opened up about his relationship with his second wife, Christy, revealing that their paths first crossed when she was a freshman at the University of Ghana, Legon.
According to the musician, a mutual acquaintance introduced him to Christy during her first year at the university. He said he subsequently remained closely involved in her life throughout her four-year academic journey.
“Christy, I watched her from Level 100 to Level 400 in school because when I met her she was in Level 100 in Legon,” he said.
Shatta Wale was questioned about whether the financial and personal support he provided Christy during her university years could be interpreted as him taking advantage of her situation.
The Taking Over hitmaker rejected that suggestion, insisting that his intention was to support her education and wellbeing.
“I was taking good care of her, making sure she had good grades. After she finished, she did her national service at Shaxi, and she is now working in one of my real estate jobs,” he stated.
The revelation comes amid public interest in Shatta Wale’s unconventional family arrangement, particularly his claim that Christy has been living under the same roof with his first wife and baby mama, Michy, whose real name is Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, and their son.
Shatta Wale’s account provides insight into the long history of his relationship with Christy, which began during her university years and eventually culminated in their marriage.
