A US-based Ghanaian Pastor, Preacher and Philanthropist Kofi Adonteng Boateng has expressed his admiration for reggae-dancehall artist Shatta Wale born Charles Nii Armah Mensah.
The man of God, in an interview on Kingdom FM monitored by MyNewsGH.com, revealed that he is not just a casual listener but a devoted fan of Shale Wale’s music. “I pray for Shatta Wale,” he shared, emphasizing the connection he feels with the artist through his powerful lyrics.
Kofi Adonteng took the opportunity to delve deeper into Shatta Wale’s complex personality, explaining that the artist’s intense and sometimes erratic behaviour can often be traced back to his childhood experiences.
“I have listened to several interviews where Wale speaks about the abandonment he faced from both his mother and father,” he noted, highlighting the emotional weight carried by the artist. Growing up without parental affection forced Wale to confront life’s challenges alone, leading him to learn from its hardships in a profound way.
The prophet elaborated on the impact of these early experiences on Wale’s current demeanor. “He has endured significant emotional and spiritual wounds,” Kofi Adonteng said, pointing out that these wounds manifest in the strong personality traits that characterize both Wale’s professional and personal life. The preacher emphasized that instead of continuing to criticize Wale for his behavior, society should recognize the need for healing.
