Ghanaian highlife musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has blasted Shatta Wale and other Ghanaian musicians.
According to the songwriter, Shatta Wale should be ashamed of himself for copying every style of Jamaican musicians when he knows the dancehall genre is not from Ghana and has gotten the undercity to call himself a ‘dancehall king’.
Gyedu-Blay Ambolley in an interview with a radio station in Accra stated that,”Shatta Wale is a copycat. How can you copy from Jamaicans and call yourself a dancehall king?”
“Ghanaian artists who claim to be kings of foreign genres should be ashamed of themselves. How would artists like Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Alkaline, and others be branded If you claim to be the monarchs of dancehall?’. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley enquired.
