Ghanaian rapper Micheal Owusu Addo well known as Sarkodie has praised his friend Shatta Wale for his tremendous contributions to the sustainability of the Ghanaian music industry.
According to him, although the ‘Dancehall King’ mostly raises controversies, a lot of those controversies have yielded positive results; they keep the music industry moving.
Speaking in a recent interview on ‘Podcast and Chill with MACG’ in South Africa, the multiple award-winning rapper said, his crazy friend Shatta Wale brought a lot of energy into the music industry.
He stressed that Shatta Wale mostly insults and provokes him but he doesn’t take offence because he has come to understand the dancehall musician very well.
“That is somebody that brought energy into our industry as much as we were mad. He insults me for no reason, we will be on the phone today and tomorrow he is up on the radio saying ‘F’ Sark. Sometimes, you don’t understand it but I think for a moment he brought energy and attention to the industry,” Sarkodie added.
Sarkodie showering praises on Shatta Wale for his great performance comes after a lot of industry players for instance Abeiku Santana labelled Shatta Wale as the saviour of the Ghana Music industry. Abeiku recently said, “Shatta Wale single-handedly fought for the Ghana Music industry”.
Shatta Wale himself has also stated many times that his massive contribution to the music industry has made it sustainable.
