The consistent investment in sports by the Member of Parliament for Sene West, Hon. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi, has begun to yield significant results, with several constituents now playing for national teams, Premier League sides, and Division One clubs across the country.
In 2005, about 21 years ago, Hon. Twumasi Ampofo organised his maiden mega football tournament in the then Sene District. The competition, which was the biggest football event of its kind in the area, featured numerous teams and players and greatly boosted the passion for football among the youth.

Since 2005, the lawmaker has consistently supported individual players and football teams across the constituency through the donation of jerseys, footballs, and financial assistance. Key beneficiary teams and events include Sene Hot Spurs, the Lemu Christmas Gala, and several other community football activities.
In December 2024, Hon. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi organised an Inter-Zonal Football Gala in honour of the National Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Yusif Abudulai, in appreciation of his efforts in raising the profile of the constituency.
Apart from the participating teams receiving jerseys, the winning team was awarded GH¢2,000, a trophy, footballs, and jerseys. The second-placed team received GH¢1,500, footballs, and jerseys. The third and fourth teams were also rewarded, receiving GH¢1,000 and GH¢500 respectively, along with footballs and sets of jerseys.

Speaking at the grand finale of the honorary tournament, the MP urged residents to use football as a tool for unity and opportunity creation.
According to him, footballers who take the game seriously and are given the right opportunities can earn a living, uplift their communities, and contribute to national development.
He cited renowned Ghanaian footballers such as Stephen Appiah, Sulley Muntari, and Mohammed Kudus, noting that they have all played key roles in the development of both their communities and the country.
Currently, Sene West has produced both national and local football talents. Notably, the captain of Ghana’s Under-17 national team, Joseph Narbi, hails from the constituency.
Below are some players produced from Sene West currently playing at various levels:
