The member of parliament for Sene west constituency in the Bono East Region Mr Kwame Ampofo Twumasi has donated to a number of constituents 50 sewing machines, 33 hair dryers, three Tricycles, three set of Jersey and footballs.
The lawmaker gave out these machines during his maiden launch of MP’s Youth empowerment program at the Presbyterian Basic school in Kwame Danso, the District capital.
According to the NDC MP, his objective is to help reduce the unemployment situation in the constituency by assisting youth who may have learnt some skills but lack the equipment and machinery to start their own business to make a living.
He disclosed that, after a research by his team, they realized that, a number of the youth in the constituency have gone through apprenticeship but do not have the capital to start a business making it necessary for him to give them assistance.
