Veteran Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Selassie Ibrahim has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, former Minister for Food and Agriculture Ibrahim Adam, following his death.
Selassie Ibrahim took to Instagram on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to mourn her husband, sharing a series of photographs documenting some of their memorable moments together, including family pictures and images from Ibrahim Adam’s recent birthday celebration.
“Rest well. Our hearts are broken beyond words. Your legacy lives on,” she wrote.
Ibrahim Adam reportedly died at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), where he had been receiving medical care before his death. The circumstances surrounding the condition for which he was receiving treatment have not been publicly disclosed.
His death has since triggered an outpouring of condolences, particularly from Ghana’s political and agricultural circles, following his years of service in government and public life.
Born an animal scientist, Ibrahim Adam served under former President Jerry John Rawlings, first as Agriculture Secretary before becoming Minister for Food and Agriculture. He later entered Parliament, representing the Choggu/Tishigu Constituency from 1997 to 2001, and subsequently served as Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank.
He was married to Selassie Ibrahim, with whom he had two children, a son and a daughter.
Following his passing, the family announced that his remains would be transported from Accra to Tamale for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
As tributes continue to pour in, Selassie Ibrahim’s emotional message offers a glimpse into the personal loss behind the public mourning of a former minister whose career spanned science, politics and public service.
