Ghanaian Afropop, Afro-dancehall and reggae musician Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, has described Sarkodie, known in real life as Michael Owusu Addo, as the biggest rapper in Africa.
The BHIM Nation president appeared on the podcast Your Auntie Could Never (YACN), where he spoke about his journey into the music industry. During the interview, he revealed that a friend who attended the same senior high school with him introduced him to Sarkodie, who was also a student at the school.
Stonebwoy explained that after performing a freestyle for Sarkodie to showcase his talent, the award-winning rapper later connected him to Dr. Duncan.
The multiple award-winning artiste, who recently won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year award at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards for the 10th time, praised Sarkodie and described him as Africa’s undisputed biggest rapper.
His comments also highlighted the strong relationship between the two musicians.
“So there was another friend of mine whose name I’m going to mention, who is the biggest rapper in Africa as far as I’m concerned, and it’s Sarkodie. We were from the same senior high school,” he said.
Debates over the biggest musicians in various genres continue to generate heated discussions among fans, with supporters often arguing that their favourite artistes are the most influential in their respective genres.
