The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources Dr. Freda Prempeh, says persons found guilty of illegal water connection across the country will be made to face the law.
According to her, those who are caught in the act will be prosecuted. She cautioned the public to stay away from illegal connections and called on the company personnel to connect water to their homes instead of doing it illegally. “I will advise everyone to stay away from illegal connections.”
The minister made this known at accounting for our customers and exhibition program organized by Ghana Water Limited held at their headquarters in Accra.
In conclusion, the minister commended Ghana Water Limited for their good work and pledged to support the organization to the next level.
Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Ing. Dr Clifford A Braimah assured the general public that his outfit will do everything within their capacity to provide a high standard of potable water.
He therefore entreated the customers to ensure that the tap linking into their reservoirs are of the best quality to allow them enough portable water from Ghana Water Limited (GWL).
He stressed that customers normally engage the services of plumbers who are not operatives of GWL and do not understand the module operandi of Ghana Water Limited which is against the law.
