The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has lauded President John Mahama’s 1 million coders program, predicting a revolutionary impact on the industry and unprecedented opportunities for girls.
Speaking at a Girls in ICT event in Accra, the MP shared personal anecdotes, including his four-year-old daughter’s coding journey and his sister’s success as an engineer at a top chip manufacturer.
According to him, President Mahama’s big agenda aims to invest $3 billion in ICT development, including expanding the Girls in ICT initiative. This integrated plan will develop human resources and capacity and provide opportunities for girls to apply their skills.
The lawmaker of Ningo-Prampram expressed excitement about the future of ICT in Ghana, particularly for girls, and urged continued support for programs like Girls in ICT.
