Kumawood actor and entrepreneur Abraham Kofi Davis, popularly known as Salinko or Small Despite, has sparked renewed public interest in the source of his growing wealth after making a series of high-value gestures to people around him.

The actor’s increasing display of financial capacity, particularly his repeated gifting of cars and other valuable items, has led to questions about the businesses and investments that have helped build his fortune outside the movie industry.

Salinko is reported to have given more than 10 vehicles to friends, colleagues and associates over the years. His latest widely discussed gesture was the presentation of a brand-new Honda CR-V to veteran gospel musician Abraham Mensah, popularly known as MC Abraham.

The scale of his generosity has also attracted attention following his announcement that he intends to place more than 300 veteran actors and musicians on a GH¢1,000 monthly allowance for life.

While the initiative has earned him praise from sections of the public, it has also triggered debate over how he is able to sustain such commitments.

The speculation has, at times, taken an uncomfortable turn. Kumawood actor Stephen Yaw Mawunyi, widely known as Don Little, has made comments linking Salinko’s wealth to alleged money rituals. However, no evidence has been presented to substantiate such allegations, and they remain claims rather than established facts.

Salinko, whose career in Kumawood helped make him a household name, has businesses that provide another explanation for his financial standing. He owns LINKO 1, 2, 3, a milk powder warehouse business, and is reported to have interests in other commercial ventures.

His story therefore extends beyond acting, highlighting how some entertainers have turned their fame into platforms for building businesses and alternative sources of income.

For Salinko, the expensive gifts and proposed monthly support for industry veterans may continue to fuel public curiosity, but his known business interests suggest that his financial activities are not limited to his earnings from the Ghanaian film industry.
