Another shocking revelation is that Aisha Huang, also known as EN Huang, the Chinese galamsey queen accused of illegal mining, is married to a Ghanaian business tycoon based in Kumasi.
The husband is said to be a Ghanaian (Asante) who was educated in China but now resides in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region.
A lawyer hired by the husband of embattled Chinese miner Kwame Nkrabeah Effah Dartey divulged this in an interview with the press.
He said “I know she is married to a Ghanaian. I know this because of her Ghanaian husband, a businessman in Kumasi and a master’s degree holder from a Chinese University. He came to my office to engage me as a lawyer.”
An Accra Circuit Court remanded Aisha Huang, along with three other Chinese nationals, Jong Li Hua, Huang Jei, and Huaid Hai Hun.
They were all charged with mining without a valid license and dealing in minerals without a permit.
Aisha Huang’s arrest has sparked widespread debate about how she left Ghana and returned.
