During the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary at the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, Very Rev. Fr. John Kofi Takyi delivered a powerful message to the youth, emphasizing the importance of making the most of their lives.
“If you are alive at this time, blessed are you! This is a pivotal time in your life, full of opportunities and possibilities. Don’t let it slip away – make the most of your youth,” he urged.
“You are to aspire to be wise, surround your lives with Christ, and receive the grace to live a fulfilled life. A wise young person discerns their bright future, identifies their goals, and pursues them with determination.
“The vital role men play in guiding their families in faith. I’m citing research that shows that when men take an active role in sharing their faith, 93.8% of their children and wives follow suit compared to 17.1% when women lead and 3.6% when children lead. Therefore, men should take initiative in guiding their families, showing a significant impact on their loved ones. Men are called to be Josephs of their homes, sacrificing their lives for their wives and children, just as St. Joseph did for Mary and Jesus,” Very Rev. Fr. John Kofi Takyi added.
He continued by saying, “You are to imitate Mary’s examples of offering, giving, and volunteerism. The importance of seizing opportunities and creating a lasting legacy is by surrendering your treasures to Jesus, just like the wise men.”
