A group, Lands and Mining Watch Ghana (LMWG) is calling on President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to intervene and restore sanity in the Mining sector.
According to the group, the government of Ghana must fulfil its duty to protect, its interests, particularly a substantial 10% stake in Adamus Resources.
Speaking at a press conference to address the Disregard for Court orders and protect Ghana’s interests in the Mining sector, the convener for the group, Solomon Owusu stated that the blatant disregard for the rule of Law by the Judiciary is unacceptable and demands immediate redress.
According to him, some security agencies are involved in facilitating the illegal exportation of gold despite a pending injunction application which undermines public trust in the integrity of law enforcement instructions.
“The revelation that Angela List, in collaboration with selected individuals from political and security circles, has orchestrated a bold and illegal scheme to export gold valued at over 7 million USD from Adamus Resources”.
Therefore, he urged the media, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders to unite in demanding accountability and transparency.
