Christina Owireduwaa, Assemblymember for Potrikrom electoral area in the Ahafo Ano South-East Constituency of the Ashanti Region has called on the government to resource her colleague members to work for a better Ghana.
Speaking in a recent interview, she stressed that Assembly members stay with the people and deal more directly with the people, yet they are not well equipped to work at their electoral areas.
Consequently, there is a need for the central government to as a matter of concern help assembly members in order to be able to cater for their (assembly members) communities.
“I will appeal to the government and authorities to lift up the state of assembly members, especially those in rural areas because we deal directly with the people. Everyone runs to the Assembly member anytime there is an issue but unfortunately, Assembly members are not resourced to deal with the situations.
Commenting about challenges she said;
“My big challenge is a death trap gutter that is posing threat to residents of my area. I’m calling on authorities to come to my aid.” She disclosed.
The Potrikrom Assembly Woman said her vision is to lift schools in her electoral area to modern ones before her term ends.
Owireduwaa who aspires to become Presiding Member (PM) for Ahafo Ano South East District however called on assembly members to vote for her on Tuesday 9th August 2022 to lift their status in the district.
