Hopeson Adorye, a prominent member of the Movement for Change, has revealed that the party’s founder and leader, Alan Kyerematen, plans to abolish the Council of State if elected President.
According to Adorye, this move is expected to reduce Ghana’s expenditure and yield substantial cost savings significantly.
As part of Kyerematen’s manifesto, ‘The Great Transformational Plan’ (GTP), the Council of State would be replaced with a new Second Chamber of Parliament.
This chamber would comprise representatives from various stakeholders, including labour unions, faith-based organizations, traditional authorities, professional bodies, gender-based organizations, the private sector, and people with disabilities.
Adorye described the GTP as a comprehensive roadmap for Ghana’s economic revitalization, providing concrete policy recommendations and actionable steps to foster an enterprise-driven economy.
The plan’s ultimate goal is to create a thriving, unified, and peaceful Ghana that offers equal opportunities for all citizens, enhances their livelihoods, and improves their overall well-being.
