Reverend Joshua Obeng, Resident Pastor of Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC), has called for the promotion of quality leadership across all sectors of national life, particularly within government institutions.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the church’s 31st Watch Night Service at the Ayigya branch, Pastor Obeng stressed that Ghana’s development hinges largely on visionary and principled leadership.
“It is a proven fact that development thrives where quality leadership exists,” he noted, urging appointees to state agencies and public offices to deliver excellence and accountability to the people.
Christians and Governance
Pastor Obeng encouraged Christians to actively pursue leadership positions in governance and public service, noting that such roles provide opportunities to lead with the wisdom and values of Christ.
According to him, Christian leaders who apply Christ-like principles in leadership can fast-track development and drive transformation across various sectors of the economy.
“The time has come for Christians, having studied the leadership traits of Christ, to assert themselves in positions of trust and responsibility to spearhead the transformation Ghana needs,” he stated.
Outlook for 2026
Looking ahead, Pastor Obeng described 2026 as a year of hope for both the Church and the nation. He emphasised that while God grants new opportunities, national progress also requires diligence and hard work.
“God is a principled God who desires the best for His people,” he said, adding that Ghanaians must be prepared to ‘work their hands in the dirt’ to achieve the results they pray for.
Governance and National Welfare
Touching on the political landscape, Pastor Obeng commended the NDC administration for its early efforts and urged President John Dramani Mahama to remain faithful to the policies and programs that earned him the people’s mandate.
He also extended words of comfort to individuals affected by fire outbreaks and those who lost loved ones in the past year, reaffirming CCC’s commitment to supporting victims and praying for peace, safety, and protection nationwide.
New Year Benediction
The Watch Night Service concluded with a sermon and benediction by Reverend Ransford Obeng, General Overseer of CCC. Welcoming congregants — including Oforikrom MP Michael Kwasi Aidoo — into 2026, he prophesied a year of success and fulfilment for Ghanaians.
He urged the faithful to walk in divine confidence, resist negative pronouncements, and commit the new year to prayer to secure a purposeful and rewarding future.
