Qatar Tensions: Ghanaian nationals urged to Register amid possible evacuation plans

The Embassy of Ghana in Doha has urged all Ghanaian nationals living in Qatar to register with the mission as part of ongoing emergency preparedness measures.

In a statement issued on Monday, March 2, 2026, the Embassy explained that the directive follows heightened tensions and unrest within the region, which could necessitate swift communication and possible evacuation arrangements.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha hereby urges all Ghanaian nationals residing in the State of Qatar who have not registered to immediately do so, as part of ongoing emergency preparedness measures,” the statement said.

According to the mission, the registration will enable officials to effectively communicate with and support Ghanaians in the event of an emergency.

“In view of the heightened tensions and unrest within the region, this registration will enable the Embassy to effectively communicate with, assist, and, if necessary, coordinate evacuation arrangements for Ghanaian citizens,” it added.

The directive applies to all Ghanaians in Qatar, including students, workers, families, and visitors. Affected individuals have been asked to complete an online registration form available on the Embassy’s official platforms.

The mission assured nationals that all information provided would be treated with strict confidentiality and used strictly for official emergency and consular purposes.

It further indicated that updates will continue to be communicated through its official channels as the situation evolves.
