Madam Grace Antwi, the proprietress of Ebigrace Zion Pre-School in Kumasi, has called upon the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the government at large to incorporate vocational training into the basic school curriculum.
This initiative aims to equip pupils and students with essential skills, ensuring they do not become a financial burden on their parents after completing their education.
Madam Antwi believes that by providing vocational training at the basic level, students will be empowered to create their employment opportunities, ultimately reducing the unemployment rate in Ghana.
This proposal was passionately advocated during the Second Carols Day event at Ebigrace Zion Pre-School.
She said the implementation of vocational training in basic schools is a crucial step towards preparing students for a successful future.
By equipping them with practical skills, the country can empower the youth to become self-reliant and contribute positively to the nation’s economy.
Therefore, the government must recognize the importance of this initiative and take immediate action to incorporate vocational training into the curriculum.
