Outspoken Ghanaian preacher, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has promised to compile the achievements of both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the past sixteen years to help voters decide which political party and candidate to vote for in the December 7 general elections.
Reacting to claims by the running mate of the NPP, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, that the incumbent government and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have outperformed every president of Ghana, including Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Prophet Oduro warned the NDC and NPP against comparing their achievements to Ghana’s first president.
According to him, only unserious persons would make such comparisons. Instead, he counselled the two parties to compare their achievements against one another.
To help with that, the clergyman mentioned that in November, he would list the achievements of both parties while in power. This, he said, will enable the electorate to make informed decisions on who to vote for.
“You compare yourself to Nkrumah? Comparison? Never do that comparison. Tell the people of Ghana what you have done, and if they want, they will vote for you.
“However, I will do this nation good. In November, I will do a series, and I am not talking about persons—8 years of NDC, and 8 years of NPP. I will compare their works on this screen in this church, and when we finish, you will make the decision,” Prophet Oduro said in a viral video shared on TikTok.
In the same video, Prophet Oduro warned his congregation against voting without considering the interest of the country.
