The Headmaster of Bestina Education Centre, Mr. Daniel Amponsah Brenya, has urged parents and guardians to prioritize investing in their children’s education over material things for a brighter future.
Speaking to Oyerepa News at the school’s 4th graduation ceremony, themed “Serving and Sustaining Quality Education in the Community,” Mr. Brenya emphasized that quality education requires great sacrifice.
He noted that many parents tend to prioritize spending on personal belongings, funerals, and social events over investing in their children’s education. Mr. Brenya cautioned parents against this trend, advising them to instead focus on their children’s educational development.
The educationist also encouraged parents to monitor their children’s progress and interests, rather than choosing career paths for them. By doing so, parents can help propel their children’s futures to greater heights and address irresponsible behavior.
“Parents must stop spending on funerals and parties and focus on their children’s education for a better future,” Mr. Daniel Brenya said.
Madam Evelyn Ohenewaa, Deputy Director of Education at the Ga South Municipal Assembly, has encouraged students to utilize technology to their advantage by seeking information online instead of indulging in non-academic activities like watching telenovelas.
According to Madam Ohenewaa, achieving future goals requires determination and dedication. She advised students to make the most of their time by befriending their books, which will ultimately lead to greater results and pride for their parents or guardians.
The educationist also emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in education, urging teachers to continue encouraging and guiding their students to shape their future.
