President John Dramani Mahama has officially signed the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill into law, clearing the way for the full implementation of the government’s flagship economic policy.
The bill was approved by Parliament on February 6, 2026, following several days of debate after its presentation at the close of 2025.
The new law establishes the 24-Hour Economy Authority as the central coordinating body responsible for overseeing the nationwide rollout of round-the-clock economic activities.
The Authority will work closely with key government agencies, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of continuous production, service delivery, and business operations across multiple sectors.
The 24-hour economy policy aims to restructure Ghana’s economic framework by promoting non-stop operations, boosting productivity, and creating employment opportunities for Ghanaians.
President Mahama described the signing as a transition “from strategy to implementation,” underscoring the government’s commitment to job creation and economic growth.
