Rev. Boakye, the Country Director of Awsome Bible College in Kumasi, has made a bold statement regarding President Akufo-Addo, accusing him of being anti-Christ.
This accusation stems from the President’s delay in signing the Anti-LGBTQI Bill, which was recently approved by the Parliament of Ghana.
The controversial bill aims to criminalize all homosexual activities in the country, a move that has sparked heated debates and divided opinions among Ghanaians.
Rev. Boakye expressed his concerns during a press conference, where he emphasized his believe that President Akufo-Addo’s actions go against the principles of Christianity.
He warned that if the bill is not signed into law, Ghana may face the same fate as the Biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
According to him, “A lot of incidents have happened in the country which we (pastors) aren’t happy about. And it’s all about President Akufo-Addo.
Since he was enthroned as the president, he has done a series of things that clearly show that Nana Akufo-Addo is not a God-fearing person. He’s not a Christian, because every decision that he has taken shows he is against Christ (Anti-Christ). ”
He explained that “President Akufo-Addo and former Speaker of Parliament Mike Oquaye once stood up and wanted to regulate Church activities. Again, he sent his foreign minister to vote against the United Nations’ decision to make Jerusalem, the capital city of Israel.
This Akufo-Addo-led government tried to bring comprehensive sexual education into the Ghana Education curriculum. Led by the former Education Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, they scrapped Religious and Moral Education from the school’s curriculum.” He believes this clearly shows Akufo-Addo is anti-Christ.
Rev. Boakye emphasized that President Akufo-Addo and his government officials have shown reluctance to pass the Anti-LGBTQI Bill into law, which he believes poses a significant threat to the country. Despite receiving advice from various stakeholders such as chiefs, religious institutions and their regulatory bodies, President Akufo-Addo has remained steadfast in his stance.
“About the assent of the Anti-LGBTQI Bill, Nana Akufo-Addo has failed to sign the bill into law and none of his NPP folks are willing to speak for the bill.
Akufo-Addo has been advised by chiefs, religious institutions and their regulatory bodies yet, he is unwilling to sign the Anti-LGBTQI Bill.”
Rev Boakye declared that, if President Akufo-Addo fails to assent to the bill, all pastors will launch an attack on the impending 2024 polls.
“Akufo-Addo must sign the Anti-LGBTQI Bill with immediate effect else all men of God in the country will team up against the election 2024. We’ll not sit and watch for Akufo-Addo and his NPP government to take decisions that will bring the wrath of God upon Ghana.” He unequivocally stated.
