The Upper West Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the brutal murder of 55-year-old Yahaya Issah, popularly known as Soja.
His lifeless body was discovered on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Wa-Dori near the new market, bearing visible head and facial injuries with bloodstains.
Deputy Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter Kamasa, confirmed that a team of crime scene experts has been dispatched to collect critical evidence to aid the probe. He added that the body was conveyed to the Upper West Regional Hospital mortuary for autopsy before being released to the family for burial in line with Islamic tradition.
In a statement, the Regional Police Command disclosed that officers have visited the bereaved family at Dodiyiri to express condolences and reassure them of a thorough and transparent investigation.
The Police pledged to pursue the case relentlessly until those responsible are identified and prosecuted. They also urged the public to remain calm, vigilant, and provide any information that could assist in fast-tracking the investigation.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining peace in the region.
