The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a man captured in a viral video allegedly assaulting a suspect.

In a statement, the Police condemned the incident and said efforts were underway to identify and apprehend the individual involved.

The Service said the suspect would be brought before the court once arrested, while investigations have been initiated to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.

It stressed that anyone found to have played a role in the incident would be dealt with in accordance with the law and subjected to due process.

The Police have appealed to the public to remain calm as investigations continue.

The Service assured the public that appropriate action would be taken against any individual found to have violated the law.
