The Tema Regional Police Command has confirmed the death of three suspected armed robbers following a gunfire exchange in the early hours of July 21, 2025, at the Tema Industrial Area.
In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Regional Police Headquarters and signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, the police disclosed that the incident occurred after officers responded to a distress call reporting a robbery in progress.
“The Tema Regional Police Command on July 21, 2025, responded to a distress call regarding armed men, numbering about ten, breaking into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area,” the statement said.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers from the Kpone District Command engaged the suspects in a shootout. Three of the suspects were fatally wounded during the exchange and were later pronounced dead. The remaining individuals, some believed to be injured, managed to escape.
Police recovered the following items from the scene:

One Bruni Mod foreign pistol

One locally manufactured double-barrelled pistol with two rounds of ammunition

Eleven live BB cartridges
The bodies of the deceased suspects have been sent to the Police Hospital Morgue for identification and autopsy. Meanwhile, investigations are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
ASP Dzakpasu commended the Kpone District Command officers for their swift and coordinated response, which prevented the robbery from being carried out successfully.
