The Ghana Police Service has sounded the alarm on potential security risks tied to Democracy Hub’s planned unlawful demonstration, following a tense meeting that ended in a stalemate.
The Police insisted on alternative locations, citing a court order prohibiting the original venue, Revolution Square. But Democracy Hub refused to budge.
Intelligence gathered from police suggests some demonstrators plan to engage in unlawful acts, including defying court orders and police directions, wielding firearms, attacking officials and critical installations, and using motorbikes to create chaos.
The Police warned of potential chaos and unlawful acts by some demonstrators. They urged Democracy Hub to caution their members and abide by the Public Order Act. Police therefore tasks Democracy Hub to caution their members and abide by the Public Order Act.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the demonstration’s fate, the Police have assured the public that they are ready to maintain law and order. The Ghana Police Service remains committed to upholding public safety and preventing any potential security breaches.
