The Ghana Police Service has scheduled a high-level meeting with political parties to discuss security measures and preparations for the upcoming Akwatia Constituency by-election.
In a letter signed by the Director-General of Administration, COP Dr. David Agyemang Adjem, the Police announced that the meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Police Headquarters in Accra.
According to the letter, discussions will centre on security arrangements, operational modalities, and the Electoral Commission’s (EC) roadmap for the by-election.
“The meeting will discuss the modalities for the by-election as well as the Electoral Commission’s preparedness and their roadmap for the Parliamentary by-election,” the Police stated.
The Service expressed optimism that all political stakeholders will cooperate, urging invited parties to fully participate in the engagement.
