The Special Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two employees of a company in North Kaneshie, Accra, for allegedly conspiring to rob their employer during a scheduled cash transfer operation.
The suspects, identified as Joseph Danso, also known as Nana Yaw, and Fauzan Alhassan, were apprehended on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, while following a dispatch rider en route to deposit company funds at a bank in Abossey Okai.
According to a statement posted on the Ghana Police Service’s official Facebook page, intelligence gathered ahead of the incident indicated that Danso and Alhassan, along with two accomplices — identified only as Frankie and Asante — had planned to intercept the cash during transit.
Acting on this information, officers from the Special Support Unit conducted covert surveillance, leading to the suspects’ arrest while they were actively trailing the cash courier.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the attempted robbery and provided the names of their accomplices, prompting an ongoing manhunt for the remaining two.
Danso and Alhassan are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all individuals involved in the plot will be brought to justice and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
