The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a man seen in a viral video threatening to shoot police officers.
In an official statement, the police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Israel Agbo Forson, a filmmaker residing in North Legon.
Forson was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation conducted on Sunday, June 23, 2025. He has since been granted police enquiry bail and is currently assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Police Service strongly condemned Forson’s actions, describing them as not only unlawful but also a serious threat to public peace and an attack on the authority of law enforcement officers.
“The Ghana Police Service once again condemns in the strongest terms acts of incitement, threats, and obstruction against law enforcement officers. Such conduct is not only unlawful but also undermines public peace and the authority of the Police,” the statement read.
The Police further reaffirmed its commitment to upholding law and order, warning that it will not hesitate to take action against anyone who engages in criminal conduct or threatens the safety of law enforcement personnel.
