Police arrest cybercrime ring, rescue kidnapped victims
The Ghana Police Service in the Okpoi-Gono District has arrested two suspects and rescued multiple victims linked to organized cybercrime activities in Tema.
In a statement released on February 12, 2026, the police said that acting on instructions from Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno, a combined team from the Special Operations Authority (SOA) and personnel from the Okpoi-Gono District Headquarters, led by ASP Grace Owusua Gyan, carried out an intelligence-led operation on February 2, 2026.
“The mission focused on rescuing kidnapped victims, apprehending suspects, and dismantling ongoing cyber fraud activities,” the statement said.
Two male suspects, Robinson Endurance and Derrick Glory, were arrested at Devtraco Estate, Community 25, Tema, without resistance. The operation also resulted in the safe rescue of ten victims who had been illegally detained and exploited for cybercrime purposes.
Authorities recovered critical evidence from the suspects, including 19 laptops, 20 mobile phones, and two WiFi routers. Photographs of the suspects, victims, and recovered items have been documented for official records.
The Okpoi-Gono District Police assured the public that updates on the investigation and prosecution of the suspects will be provided as the case progresses.
