The Ghana Police Service’s Special Operations Unit has arrested three suspected gang leaders in connection with the Adabraka gold robbery after intelligence-led operations.
The arrests were carried out on January 19, 2026, in the Ashaiman District, following months of sustained surveillance and targeted operations by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Operations Unit.
The suspects have been identified as Nashiru Abubakari, also known as “Soldiar”; Fatao Mohammed, popularly called “Motorway”; and a third suspect known as “50Cent”.
According to police sources, the arrests followed careful intelligence gathering, monitoring, and tactical action aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the robbery.
Investigations are ongoing to track down and arrest other accomplices, while efforts are also underway to recover exhibits connected to the crime.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will be processed for court in accordance with the law.
The Police Service has assured the public of its continued commitment to fighting organized crime, maintaining public safety, and has urged citizens to support law enforcement with credible information.
