If there were one person who was unlikely to openly criticize President Nana Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, it would have been actor Prince David Osei.
This is because the actor, who was an astute pioneer of the NPP’s ‘4 More To Do More’ campaign in the previous general elections, has been on “fire” in recent weeks, blaming the government for the country’s current economic hardship.
His, outspokenness, however, seems to come with a price, he is paying by receiving threats.
“I have experienced my fair share of threats, insults, trolls and attacks but I am unperturbed because seriously, I can’t control how people feel about me,” he told Graphic Showbiz.
According to the actor, who has appeared in films such as Lost, Fortune Island, Last Night, Hero, and Forbidden, there is always a cost to an act, and he was prepared for it.
“God is with me in all that I do, so I shall not be moved. In life, you need to stand for something or you stand for nothing,” he said.
He stated that he has always been passionate about good governance and has been criticizing successive governments since the administration of late President Atta Mills.
