Some workers of the waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited in the Ashanti Region have expressed their displeasure over the long delays in the payment of their salaries and have threatened to evoke curses on management and authorities who have kept their salaries for the past 10 months.
These women in an interview with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on the Oyerepa Breakfast Show disclosed that they have not been paid their salaries for close to a year with some arrears still pending.
Lamenting this issue, they also revealed that almost all workers with the Zoomlion company are scared to complain because they fear might lose their jobs.
The workers revealed that the company owes them 10 months’ salary including some arrears and all attempts to get the government and management of the company to honour payment of their salaries have proven futile.
According to workers, they were previously paid through the bank but currently, authorities have taken a sole decision to pay them through mobile money which they don’t want because most of them are not mobile money users and insist authorities should go by the bank method in paying them.
The workers however made a clarion call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the appropriate authorities of the company to come out and tell them something by the end of this week else they will have no option but to lay down their tools.
