Ernest Owusu Bempah, Deputy Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sharply criticized supporters of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over claims linking Kennedy Agyapong to the recent arrest of Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
In an interview with Kwesi Parker Wilson on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Owusu Bempah dismissed the accusations as baseless and inflammatory, describing them as stupid statements aimed at fueling unnecessary division within the party.
“You see, those are the most foolish statements anybody could make. A lot of people want to exploit the current political atmosphere for propaganda to serve their own agendas. It is sad to suggest that Kennedy Agyapong and Wontumi are at odds. They have no issues. What happened prior to the elections was political banter, nothing more.” He said.
He clarified that it is, in fact, supporters of Dr. Bawumia who are making these statements, and he urged them to refrain from doing so
“It is Bawumia’s supporters who are behind these claims. If they are not careful, they will destroy the man’s political career. This kind of propaganda must stop. If it continues, Dr. Bawumia’s future in politics could end.” Owusu Bempah warned.
