Mr. Sarfo Raphael Patrick, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused Andy Owusu of destroying the party with his actions, all in the name of the Regional Chairman, Wontumi.
A special aide to NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Andy Owusu Wontumi, has been criticized by some executive members of the party in the region, particularly the regional youth organizer Sarfo Raphael Patrick, for making decisions in the party that show total disrespect for the party constitution and elected executives.
This comes after Manhyia South Constituency Chairman, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta, popularly known as Tom Tom, was invited to appear before the regional disciplinary committee after a media dispute with his regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel Tuesday morning, Sarfo Raphael recounted how Andy Owusu has made decisions in the party at the expense of the regional executives who were voted for in the party.
He explained how Andy Owusu issued a fake letter inviting the Manhyia South Constituency chairman, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, popularly known as Tom Tom, to answer allegations of misconduct before the regional disciplinary committee of the party.
“Our party in the Ashanti Region is now being run by a certain Andy Owusu who makes decisions and appointments even over us, the executives who were voted for in elections… he is causing so much havoc in the party and I can tell you he is completely destroying the party in this region,” he said.
However, he noted how the executives of the region have been rendered irrelevant just because this man has been making decisions for the party which the Regional Chairman himself is aware are against the constitution of our party.
“Look, what I am saying is that you cannot exclude the regional chairman Wontumi from this issue because this guy has been using his name to make decisions and do all sorts of bad things in the country,” he stated.
The Regional Organizer lamented how Andy Owusu, a special aide to Chairman Wontumi, has made decisions in the name of the chairman and deliberately created discord among party members in the region.
