The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has presided over the installation of Nana Yaw Safor Baah III as the new Paramount Chief of the Worawora Traditional Council in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region.
The ceremony was conducted by Nana Barima Okugyesuo Adunan II of Kuntase in the Ashanti Region, under the directive of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The event, which ended a decade-long leadership dispute in Worawora, was supervised by Otumfuo’s personal linguist, Okyeame Bonsu. It drew traditional leaders from Kuntase, Kokofu, Tapa Amanya, Buem-Jasikan, Apesokubi, and Worawora, including Nana Kwaku Aborah III, Sanahene of the Worawora Traditional Council.
Addressing the gathering, Nana Okugyesuo Adunan highlighted the leadership vacuum that had hindered unity and development in the area over the past ten years. He urged the newly installed chief to focus on reconciliation, peacebuilding, and development.
He further encouraged Nana Yaw Safor Baah III to work closely with community members, including youth, women, and government agencies, to implement initiatives promoting education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Okyeame Bonsu, representing the Manhyia Palace, called on residents to rally behind their new leader, emphasizing that unity and cooperation are essential for lasting progress.
Community members expressed optimism that the new leadership will restore harmony and drive development across the Worawora Traditional Area.
