Kumawood actor Stephen Yaw Mawunyo, popularly known as Oteele, may have publicly declared his determination to restore his marriage, but his wife, Gifty Nana Afriyie, has revealed that their relationship is currently at a critical point.

The disclosure comes after Oteele publicly vowed to win back his wife following the controversy surrounding a leaked intimate video that reportedly brought allegations of infidelity against the actor to the fore.

Oteele had indicated that he was prepared to go to great lengths to convince his wife to return to their matrimonial home.

However, Gifty Nana Afriyie, who has reportedly moved out of their residence, has now confirmed that the couple are living separately.

Speaking during a TikTok live session, she responded to a question from a follower about the state of her marriage.

“Yes, we have separated. But I don’t know if divorce is the same as separation, but we are in separation,” she said.

Gifty Nana Afriyie further suggested that the current separation could determine what happens to the marriage in the future, depending on whether the couple can settle their differences.

“If we are not able to work out our differences during this period, then what’s next will continue,” she added.

Her comments have added a new dimension to Oteele’s public efforts to reconcile with her, making it clear that his desire to reunite with his wife does not necessarily mean the marriage has been restored.

For now, the couple remain separated, with the possibility of reconciliation or divorce seemingly dependent on whether they can resolve the issues that have strained their marriage.
