The Offinso District Court has remanded two fetish priests, Nana Akwasi Amankwaa and Akua Asantewaa, into police custody for allegedly murdering a 67-year-old man, Opanin Augustine Amponsah, at Amoawi in the Offinso South Municipality.
The accused were arrested on July 14th for allegedly killing the deceased with poisoned chicken soup.
According to reports, the deceased had visited the fetish priests seeking assistance to retrieve a gold, but was instead given poisoned chicken meat and soup, leading to his death shortly after consumption.
Her Lordship Christiana Blues, who presided over the case, remanded the suspects for two weeks to reappear on August 16, 2024.
The judge further urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
