Nursing mother drowns in pond at Amuana Praso
A 42-year-old nursing mother, Grace Amanuwaa, has tragically drowned in a pond at Amuana Praso in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.
According to reports, the deceased had gone to fetch water from the pond, which serves as a community well, when the incident occurred.
Her sister, Akua Boatemaa, told Adom News that Grace had a history of epilepsy and is believed to have suffered a seizure while drawing water, which led to her drowning.
The body has since been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
Meanwhile, her grieving husband, Kwabena Ayigbe, who was on his farm at the time of the tragedy, has appealed to the Ghana Police Service to release the body for burial.
