The National Road Safety Authority, NRSA, has disclosed that it is working on measures to restrict commercial operations of Mini Buses to intracity services or routes not exceeding forty kilometers following numerous complaints from road users including ministry of national security.

“The Authority has a duty imposed by the NSRA act 2019(Act993) to reduce road traffic crashes, injuries and deaths by such measures including the issuance of cautions, notices and directives to improve the quality of transport service or correct irregularities in the transport operations to prevent or minimize road traffic crashes, injuries and deaths” A portion of the statement reads
Speaking to the National PRO for the National Road Safty Authority, Mrs Peal Adusu Satekla on the Oyerepa Breakfast show hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel , she stated that it has become imperative for them to rise up against such people in order to help curb the road accidents menace.
“We have had meetings with their leaders on the issue but it looks like they forget everything we discuss the moment they leave the meeting. We’ve written to them to stop these irregularities and if they don’t, we will be compelled to enforce the laws to deal with them “ she stated
