Some NPP women were chanting when Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy, arrived at the one-week observance of the late Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah.
In the video captured by Oyerepa News, the majority of attendees are dressed in black attire, creating a somber atmosphere. Dr. Prempeh is seen being escorted by enthusiastic New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, who chant praises in his honor.
The chants, led by a woman holding an NPP-branded knit scarf, included phrases like, “Obiara nim se, eye NAPO a ne ba,” which translates to “everybody knows that it is NAPO’s time.”
These chants have sparked speculation that Dr. Prempeh, also known as NAPO, could potentially be named as the running mate to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
