The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has downplayed the integrity of the NPP government in punishing its thugs who invaded the TV studio.
During a recent episode of United Showbiz on UTV, a group of individuals allegedly affiliated with the NPP party forcefully entered the studio, causing a disturbance and expressing their concerns regarding the show’s politicization.
Reacting to the issue in interviews with Kwesia Parker Wilson at Oyerepa Breakfast Time, General Mosquito attributed the attack to vigilantism.
“I warn the media against vigilantism. The media doesn’t want us to criticize. You know they started the attack on the RCCC coordinator. What do you think they were doing? From there to court, they went to attack the judge and free the suspects. At that time, the government and NPPP played Ghanaian tricks. You have certain groups in the country, and the security can’t touch them. It shows there are certain people who are above the law. So if you have all these, what else do you expect?
They won’t do anything to the attackers at UTV. The IGP always rushes to issue a statement whenever the NDC name is connected to any issue. Even killers are walking free. How much more than those who invaded the studio?” he enquired.
According to Asiedu Nketia, A-Plus is an NPP member, so they should deal with him, not the TV station.
“A-Plus and the NPP were given letters. A-Plus is an NPP member and he tore the letter. If the NPP abides by laws, what should they do to him? It’s between him and the party, not the station. If I write a letter to an NDC member and the person sits on TV to tear it, I will use the party laws to deal with the person.” The NDC chairman asserted.
