The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on its members across the country to actively participate in the nationwide clean-up exercise scheduled for Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, even as the party prepares to hold its constituency elections on the same weekend.

In a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP encouraged members to demonstrate their dedication to environmental sanitation, civic responsibility, and national development by supporting the clean-up initiative launched by President John Dramani Mahama.

Although constituency elections are set to take place on Saturday, July 11, the party explained that voting will be conducted on a walk-in basis, allowing members to cast their ballots before joining the sanitation exercise.

The statement emphasized that the clean-up campaign offers party supporters an opportunity to contribute to creating cleaner communities while reinforcing the values of responsible citizenship.

“The Party calls on all members to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to environmental sanitation, civic responsibility, and national development through their active participation,” the statement noted.

The nationwide exercise forms part of efforts to improve sanitation in the aftermath of the June 29 floods, which impacted several communities and renewed concerns about poor waste disposal practices and clogged drainage systems.
